OAKLAND, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's tennis team wrapped up the program's first mainland regular season road trip in nine years on Monday against Holy Names University at the Mills College Tennis Courts.
Playing a shortened format with two doubles and four singles matches, the Hawks got the better of the Silverswords, 5-0, in a rematch of the Feb. 10 meeting in Honolulu won by HNU.
HNU won both doubles matches to earn the duo's point. The Hawks won all four singles matches with an extremely competitive match between
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) and Ana Rios in the No. 3 singles spot with Rios taking the match, 6-2, 6-3.
Molly Cookman (Racine, Wis./Prairie) and
Sydney Danielson (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake were able to take games off their opponents in No. 1 and 4 singles, respectively.
The Silverswords return home and will face Division I Portland State on Friday.
