AZUSA, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's soccer team on Thursday dropped the third game of their current southern California road trip.
The Silverswords were upended by Azusa Pacfic, 7-1, at the Cougars Soccer Complex.
Kawainui Anderson (Kailua, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) had the 'Swords goal, coming in the 80th minute.
Ian Garcia (Chula Vista, Calif./Cuyamaca College/Meter Dei HS) led Chaminade with three shots while multiple shots were also taken by
Owen Caba (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) and Anderson.
Jonah Valmonte (Poolesville, Md./Robert Morris University/Poolesville HS) recorded a season-high nine saves.
The Cougars scored four goals in the first 12 minutes of the game.
The 'Swords fell to 1-6-3 overall and 1-3-3 in the Pacific West Conference. APU improved to 4-7-1 and 3-3-1 in the conference.
The Silverswords conclude their road trip Saturday at No. 14 Point Loma.
