SAN DIEGO – The Chaminade University men's soccer team on Saturday wrapped up their southern California road trip with a 6-0 loss to Pacific West Conference-leading Point Loma at the PLNU Soccer Field.
The defeat dropped the Silverswords to 1-7-3 overall and 1-4-3 in the conference. The Sea Lions, ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, is 9-1-3 and 7-0-1.
Chaminade took eight shots on the afternoon with
Kayden Medeiros (Pukalani, Maui, Hawai'i/Western Oregon Univ./Kamehameha-Maui HS) taking a team-high two coming off the bench.
Jonah Valmonte (Poolesville, Md./Robert Morris University/Poolesville HS) made nine saves, equaling the season high he also had on Thursday at Azusa Pacific.
The Sea Lions struck quickly, scoring 22 seconds into the match. They added three more in the first half and two in the second.
The Silverswords return to the Saint Louis Field pitch for their final two home games of the season. They will face Fresno Pacific on Wednesday then play their home finale on Saturday, Nov. 2 against in-city rival Hawai'i Pacific University.
