HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's soccer team on Friday settled for their first draw of the season with a 1-1 decision against the Academy of Art Urban Knights in a Pacific West Conference matchup at Saint Louis Field.
Although in the record books, the game goes down as a tie, the outcome was a victory of sorts for the Silverswords, who played a man down for 46 minutes in the match and two down for the last two minutes of the match due to red cards.
The 'Swords totaled six shots in the match with six of those being on-goal while the Urban Knight totaled 10 shots in the match with seven of those being on-goal. The 'Swords struck first with a goal in the 14th minute, but with a penalty kick opportunity in the 41st minute of the match, the Urban Knights were able to strike back evening the score at 1.

Owen Malone (Carlsbad, Calif./Univ. of Saint Katherine/Carlsbad HS) for the game's first score, Malone's second goal in as many games.
ART U struck back with a penalty kick in the 41st minute of the match by Kristian Lonvig.
With a scoreless second half, the 'Swords settled for the draw against the Urban Knights, putting them at 1-3-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the PacWest. ART U is 1-4-2 and 0-1-1 in the conference.
The 'Swords are back on Monday at 10 a.m. against PacWest newcomer Jessup University at Saint Louis Field.
