IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's tennis team on Wednesday continued their Southern California trip, dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 44 Concordia University Irvine.
 
The Silverswords lost their first two doubles matches although 
Kirra Carvalho (Lihue, Kaua'i, Hawai'i/Kaua'i) and 
Kylie Ye (Laie, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Asia Pacific International School) managed to take a game in the No. 2 position.
 
Also taking a game were 
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) and 
Jordyn Luna (Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i/Maui) against the Golden Eagles' top doubles squad of Sophie Rachor and Tiffany Carillo, the 11th-ranked doubles team in Division II. Their match was left unfinished with CUH trailing 5-1 when CUI took the necessary two of three to get the doubles point.
 
In singles, Lau dropped a straight sets decision to Rachor but took two games in the second set, 6-0, 6-2. Rachor is ranked No. 57 nationally in singles.
 
Also taking two games singles was 
Sydney Danielson (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) in the No. 5 spot against Bryn Johnson, both coming in the first set.
 
The Silveswords fell to 0-8 on the season while CUI improved to 12-3. The 'Swords wrap up their road trip Thursday at PacWest affiliate member Cal State Los Angeles with doubles action beginning at 8 a.m. Hawai'i time.
