LOS ANGELES – The Chaminade University women's tennis team finished their Southern California road trip Thursday with a 7-0 defeat at Cal State Los Angeles at the CSULA Tennis Complex.
After the Golden Eagles (2-12) took the doubles point, the Silverswords put together several competitive singles matches at the top of the scorebook.
At the No. 2 singles spot,
Jordyn Luna (Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i/Maui) took three points in the first set and another in the second before falling to Sarah Olmos, 6-3, 6-1.
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) in the top draw also took three points against Hideka Takamura in her 6-3, 6-0 loss.
Five of the six singles matches saw the 'Swords capture at least one point in their respective matches.
Cal State LA is an affiliate member of the Pacific West Conference as the CCAA, which the Golden Eagles are full-time members, does not sponsor tennis.
The Silverswords (0-9) will return to the islands and travel to the Big Island on Sunday where they will end their season with a doubleheader at the University of Hawai'i Hilo at the UH Hilo Tennis Courts starting at 10 a.m.
