HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's soccer team on Thursday was defeated by visiting Concordia University Irvine, 4-0, at the Saint Louis Field pitch, the team's second-to-last home game of the 2025 season.
The Silverswords were held to one shot on the afternoon, coming off the boot of
Vlad Tomutiu (Belmont, Calif./Cañada College/Carlmont HS).
The Golden Eagles (7-5-1, 5-2-0 Pacific West Conference) got on the board in the eighth minute on a penalty kick after the 'Swords were called for denying a scoring opportunity inside their own box.
Jonah Valmonte (Poolesville, Md./Robert Morris University/Poolesville HS) made a career-high 11 saves for Chaminade (0-8-1, 0-5-1 PacWest), several of which were of the diving variety or climbing the ladder.
Hunter Santoscoy (Florence, S.C./Union University/West Florence HS) and
Jack Williams (Issaquah, Wash./Issaquah) played all 90 minutes for CUH.
The Silverswords will be on the Saint Louis Field pitch for the final time in 2025 when they host Westmont College at 2:30 p.m. and will be the last home games for 10 seniors. All will be honored at the conclusion of the contest.
