Women’s Soccer Celebrates Seniors in Home Finale

HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's soccer team on Saturday bid aloha to nine impactful seniors in their final home match of the 2025 season.

Despite falling to Westmont College, 2-0, in their last game at the Saint Louis Field pitch, the Silverswords kept the Warriors on their heels all 90 minutes, outshooting them, 12-to-5, including a 6-to-3 advantage in shots on-goal.

Seniors represented four of those tries at the net with Haley Mo'okini (San Gabriel, Calif./Gabrielino) firing off two shots while Brynn Shimabukuro (Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i/South Dakota State/Aiea HS) and Isabella Narvaez (Vail, Ariz./Cienega) had one each. Shots from Mo'okini and Narvaez required Westmont goalkeeper Ellie Ludwig to make the stop before entering the net.

Kenna Kiefer (Vail, Ariz./Cienega) led the 'Swords with five shots, three on-goal while Maddie Merrick (Parker, Colo./Creighton University/Legend HS) made one save.

Chaminade's senior class represented 21 wins over the past four years, although in the case of Clara Slate-Liu (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada/Ecolè Alpha Secondary), she was involved in 28 victories as a fifth-year senior who had an extra year of eligibility due to COVID restrictions in 2021.

Along with Mo'okini, Shimabukuro and Narvaez, Madelynne Knowd (Ramona, Calif./Ramona) and Kaila Levoit (Cypress, Calif./Golden West College/Cypress HS) were seniors who also got the starting nod.

Lela Gi (Las Vegas/Liberty) and Bryana Yoshida (Makakilo, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Fresno Pacific University/Kapolei HS) came off the bench and got over 20 minutes of action while Sydney Esquival (Los Angeles/Pasadena City College/Crescenta HS) also saw action on the pitch.

Chaminade is 1-4-6 and 1-4-3 in the Pacific West Conference while Westmont is 5-8 and 5-2 in the PacWest.

The 'Swords will end the season with three straight road games including a pair in Northern California starting Thursday, Oct. 30 at Menlo College.
