ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Chaminade University men's basketball team wrapped up the Alaska-Hawai'i Challenge presented by Alaska Airlines on Sunday with a 57-53 loss to host University of Alaska at the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Silverswords trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half and rallied to tie the score in the waning minutes before the comeback fell short.
Roland Banks II (Bakersfield, Calif./Fullerton College/Cathedral HS) had a team-high 15 points for the Silverswords to earn All-Tournament Team honors.
Kent King (Washington, D.C./Vincennes University/Fork Union Military Academy) added 14 points for the 'Swords who fell to 1-1. King also had six rebounds.
Sylas Williams, who was named tournament Most Valuable Player, had 22 points for Alaska Anchorage (4-2).
The 'Swords found themselves down 39-21 with just over two minutes left in the first half and 39-24 at halftime. Trailing by 15 with 11:40 left, a layup from
Fletcher MacDonald (Wollongong, Australia/Lubbock Christian University/Newington College HS) ignited a 10-0 over the next four minutes to bring them to within 47-42.

Kent King tied it at 53 at the 1:26 mark. But Bishop Tosi's basket on the ensuing possession gave the Seawolves the lead for good.
Chaminade shot 42 percent from the floor and held UAA to 37.3 including just 5-for-26 from 3-point range. Alaska Anchorage held the rebounding edge, 41-to-31. The 'Swords forced 21 turnovers but gave the bal away 20 times themselves.
The Silverswords will play their final home game of the 2025 calendar year on Wednesday when they host Western Washington University at McCabe Gymnasium. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
