SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's tennis team continued their northern California road trip Wednesday with a 7-0 defeat to nationally ranked Dominican University of California at the Castellucci Family Tennis Center.
After dropping the team doubles point, the Silverswords got a solid performance from
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui), who battled Astrid Craig before falling, 6-3, 6-2, in No. 3 singles.
Kylie Ye (Laie, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Asia Pacific International School), at the top singles spot, faced Audrey Rafols, ranked as the No. 11 singles player in ITA Division II, and took a game in the opening set.
The Silverswords are 0-7 while the Penguins, ranked 43rd nationally, are 9-3.
The 'Swords will face new Pacific West Conference member Jessup University on Thursday at Menlo College.
