LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's cross country team is picked eighth in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Poll in voting by the conference coaches.
The Silverswords received 54 points and were predicted to finish ahead of fellow Hawai'i rivals, University of Hawai'i Hilo (48 points) and Hawai'i Pacific University (36 points).
Three-time defending PacWest champion Biola was a near unanimous pick to win its fourth straight conference title, capturing 11 of the 12 first-place votes. Point Loma received remaining top vote and was picked second.
CUI, Azusa Pacific and Fresno Pacific rounded out the top five.
Chaminade opens the season on the morning of Friday, Sept. 5 at the University of Hawai'i Manoa's Big Wave Invitational at Kapiolani Park.
