Panter Tallies Triple-Double for Volleyball at Jessup

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's volleyball continued their final mainland road trip of the season with a Friday date against Jessup University at Warrior Arena.

The Silverswords, who made the nearly seven-hour drive from Santa Barbara to the northern-most school in the Pacific West Conference, were bested in four sets by the Warriors, 26-24, 25-23, 12-25, 25-23.

In the loss, Allison Panter (Denver, Colo./Portland State University/Denver School of Science and Technology HS) became the first Silversword since Alexia Byrnes in October 2021 to record a triple-double with 12 kills, 18 assists and 11 digs. She also added three service aces. It is also just the second triple-double in the last 30 years.

Lillie Hinton (Spicewood, Texas/Lake Travis) also put down 12 kills while Beele Wieczorek (Wiesbaden, Germany/Elly-Heuss School) led the 'Swords (11-12, 5-8 PacWest) with 13 kills. Hinton also had three blocks, all solo. Tabby Allen (Leander, Texas/Rouse) added another 11 kills and four aces.

Lilinoe Paschoal (Paukukalo, Maui, Hawai'i/Baldwin) had 27 assists and 12 digs while Kyra Pagud (Honolulu/Moanalua) came up with 27 digs.

Jadyn Hoffman led Jessup (5-17, 3-11 PacWest) with 12 kills.

Although Chaminade couldn't hold on to as many as a four-point lead in the opening set, they still had a chance to capture the frame with set-point at 24-23 but Jessup stole it with three straight points.

CUH also fell behind 16-10 in the next set before a 12-6 run enabled them to catch the Warriors at 22 before the home team scored three of the second set's final four points to put them up, 2-0.

The 'Swords then roared out of the gate in the third set with Wieczorek's six kills and four each from Allen and Hinton while the team hit .469 and held Jessup to .029 to force an extra set.

Chaminade was poised to send the match to a decisive fifth set, taking a 20-16 edge. But the Warriors scored six of the next eight points, giving them the momentum to win the match. Panter secured her triple double with six kills and four digs in the final frame.

Like in Wednesday's match at Westmont, the 'Swords had the overwhelming advantage on paper with .206 with 62 kills, 61 assists, 75 digs, nine aces and four blocks. Jessup posted a .149 hitting clip, 38 kills, 37 assists, 60 digs and seven aces. However, the Warriors had 13 total team blocks.

The Silverswords close out the road trip Saturday at Dominican University of California with a 10 a.m. Hawai'i time start.
