MONTEREY, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's golf team made their 2026-27 debut Monday, coming in fifth after the first two rounds of the RCA Electric Fall Invitational at the par-70 TPC Monterey at Pasadera Course.
The Silverswords shot 584 and are just nine shots behind Round 2 leader Dominican entering Tuesday's final round. Freshman
Dale Swartwood (San Diego/Clairemont) is tied for third after an even-par 140 after 36 holes and trails second-round leader Troy Song of Cal State Dominguez Hills by five shots.
Playing in his first tournament since May 2025 after an injury cost him the entire 2025-26 season,
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) is tied for 21st at 6-over 146. The redshirt senior fired an even-par 70 in the first 18 holes.
Chance Wilson (Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawai'i/Enlightium Academy) is tied for 31st at 10-over while
Tanner Capik (Los Angeles/Beverly Hills) and
Riley Born (Las Vegas/Odyssey) are behind at plus-11 and -12, respectively.
The 'Swords' were in second at the end of the first round at 287, just two shots behind first-round leader and host Menlo College. Alexander's five birdies helped him to an even-par 70 which put him tied for fifth while Capik and Swartwood were just a shot behind at 71.
But the afternoon's second round wasn't as kind for Chaminade with a score of 10-over 297 with Alexander and Capik being unable to sustain their first 18-hole success.
However, Swartwood posted four birdies for a second round 1-under 69 to put him among the tournament leaders.
Born did have the 'Swords' lone eagle, which came at the par-5 17th hole in the second round, one of five eagles on the day.
The Silverswords will conclude the Invitational in Tuesday's final round. The tee times were pushed back to 5:20 a.m. Hawai'i time.
