MONTEREY, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's golf team concluded the first tournament of their fall non-championship segment on Tuesday, finishing fifth with an 883 at the RCA Electric Invitational, held at the par-70 TPC Monterey at Pasadera Course.

Dale Swartwood (San Diego/Clairemont) completed a standout tournament with a 1-over-par 211, finishing in a two-way tie for third overall, just five shots behind medalist Mason Montgomery of Stanislaus State.

The Silverswords shot a final round 299 while Swartwood, in his first-ever collegiate tournament, tied Michael Milton (2017) and Jeren Nishimoto (2016) for the second-lowest 54-hole score in school history. For the third time in as many rounds, the freshman carded four birdies, giving him 12 in the tournament, tying him for the third-most.

Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) rebounded from a tough second round to post a final-round 1-over 70 and finish 14th at 7-over 217. The redshirt senior finished his tournament in nearly 17 months with a 4.00 average on par 4s, the best among the 64-player field. Swartwood was tied for second in par-4 scoring at 4.04.

Chance Wilson (Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawai'i/Enlightium Academy) carded a 78 in his final round for a total of 228. Tanner Capik (Los Angeles/Beverly Hills) shot 79 in his third round and ended with a 230 followed by Riley Born (Las Vegas/Odyssey) at 236 after shooting 84 in the final round. Born was one of just eight golfers to card an eagle during the tournament.

Stanislaus State captured the team title, finishing six shots better than host Menlo College.

The 'Swords return home with their final three fall tournaments in state, starting with the Hawai'i Tri-Match, hosted by Hawai'i Pacific University, from Oct. 17-18 at the Pearl at Kalauao course.
