Women’s Basketball Falls at Jessup in Season Finale

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's basketball team finished the 2025-26 season Saturday with a 70-53 defeat to Jessup University at Warrior Arena.
 
Alyssa Schuetze (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) had a team-high 18 points for the Silverswords while also pulling down five rebounds.
 
Julien Parado (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Campbell) added nine with five boards while Selena Buttery (Brockway, Pa./Brockway) and Ashley Holen (Watford City, N.D./Minot State University/Watford City HS) each chipped in with eight in their final collegiate games. Buttery, who saw her career-high four straight games in double digit scoring snapped, ripped down 11 boards. She did knock down a 3-pointer, giving her 40 on the season, tying her with Sameera Elmasri and Kelly Costello for the fifth-highest in single season history.
 
Maddy Weaver (Puyallup, Wash./Puyallup) also had double-digit rebounds, pulling down a career-high 12. Kylie Squier (Branchville, N.J./Pope John XXIII Regional) had three of the 'Swords' five assists on the afternoon.
 
Andheya Aurelio had a game-high 34 points, hitting nine triples, to lead the Warriors (9-19, 7-15 Pacific West Conference).
 
Trailing 30-21 at halftime, Parado and Weaver combined for eight points for Chaminade, whose 13-4 run to start the second half, knotted the score at 34. Jessup managed to retake a 48-39 edge at the end of the third quarter before the Warriors pulled away to start the final period.
 
The Silverswords (0-26, 0-22 PacWest) shot 34.4 percent in the finale and made 9-of-12 from the charity stripe, along with 39 rebounds.
 
Jessup shot at a 40 percent clip with 13 3s, was 5-of-11 at the free throw line with 32 boards, 18 assists, 14 turnovers and 14 steals.
