HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's golf team begins its championship spring season on Thursday at the RCA Electric Spring Invitational, hosted by Menlo College at the Coyote Creek Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California.
Renee Yuen, in her 13th year as head coach, has four returnees with three freshmen in looking to make a mark which culminates in the Pacific West Conference Championships in Las Vegas in late April.
Of the four veterans,
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) is the Silverswords' lone senior and played a pivotal park in his first three seasons including the team's win at the 2024 PGA WORKS Men's Division II Collegiate Championships, where he was the runner-up. Alexander was hampered by an injury throughout the Silverswords' non-championship fall season but is hoping to return to form this spring in what is expected to be his final year.
A.J. Dahlk (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) is Chaminade's other returnee who had significant experience a year ago. As a freshman, played in 20 matches while his fall 2025 year saw him play in all nine of the team's rounds.
Also back for their sophomore years are
Tanner Capik (Los Angeles/Beverly Hills) and
Jack Shea (Somerset, Mass./Bishop Stang).
Chaminade's freshmen of
J.J. Hutchins (Los Angeles/Huntington Beach),
Cody Dao (Henderson, Nev./Liberty) and
Chance Wilson (Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawai'i/Enlightium Academy) were extremely productive in the fall, each posting at least sub-80 scores in their nine total fall rounds.
Following this week's tournament, the Silverswords remain in the Bay Area for their annual participation in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay at the Corica Park Golf Course next Monday and Tuesday.
They'll also play in Dominican's Chilly the Penguin Invitational in early April followed by the PacWest Championship from April 20-22.
