HONOLULU -- The Chaminade University women's tennis team wrapped up their 2026 home slate Monday against Bucknell University at the Donald A. Andrews Diamond Head Tennis Center.
The Silverswords, who were down two players, ended up dropping the match, 7-0, to their Division I counterparts.
After the Bison (7-7) won the doubles point, the 'Swords battled during singles with
Carine Bleasdell (Kihei, Maui, Hawai'i/Hawai'i Technology Academy) winning games in both of her sets against Katherine Purpura at No. 5 singles.
Hannah Lewis (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) also managed to win a game in the first set against Natalie Devraj in the second singles position.
Playing at the DHTC for the final time, senior
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) put up a spirited effort against Jaycie Mair at the top singles spot before falling 6-3, 6-2.
Bleasdell,
Selena Buttery (Brockway, Pa./Brockway) and
Danica Palmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Merion Area) were the other seniors stepping onto their home court for the last time, although they have one more match on O'ahu on March 27 at Hawai'i Pacific University in Kailua.
The Silverswords will hit the road for four matches in northern California this week, starting Friday at Menlo College.
