Men’s Basketball Honored by NABC for Academics

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chaminade University men's basketball team on Wednesday was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for their academic achievements.
 
The Silverswords were named to the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award while seven team members were named to the NABC Honors Court.
 
For the 11th straight year, the 'Swords earned the Team Academic Excellence Award which goes to men's basketball teams who post an aggregate grade-point average of 3.00 or better during the 2025-26 academic term. The team posted a 3.21 GPA this past season.
 
The seven Silverswords who were named to the Honors Court are Roland Banks II (Bakersfield, Calif./Fullerton College/Cathedral HS), Bruce Carpenter (Fayetteville, Ga./Gannon University/McIntosh HS), Brandon Haddock (Southlake, Texas/University of Utah/Carroll HS), Payton Lambrecht (Milwaukee, Wis./Sauk Valley CC/Whitefish HS), Fletcher MacDonald (Wollongong, Australia/Lubbock Christian Univ./Newington College HS), Nathan Medina (Long Beach, Calif./Biola University/Valley Christian HS) and Brycen Shackelford (Folsom, Calif./Folsom).
 
Banks, MacDonald and Shackelford were named to the Honors Court for the second straight year. Medina also earned his second award, picking up his first in 2024-25 with Biola University.
 
The NABC Honors Court goes to men's basketball student-athletes who are juniors, senior and graduate students who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better.
