HONOLULU – For the second time in three days, the Chaminade University women's soccer team faced a first-time foe and another from the Lone Star Conference based out of Texas.
 
And like Thursday's defeat against Texas Woman's University, the Silverswords came out on the short end of a 3-0 decision to the University of Texas at Dallas at Saint Louis Field.
 
The Comets scored the first goal in the eighth minute which came on a bad-luck situation for the 'Swords when a UTD corner kick went off the hip of a CUH defender and into the net for an own goal.
 
Texas-Dallas then got the benefit of a foul whistled inside the box resulting in a penalty kick goal in the 54th minute.
 
Mackenzie Jamison (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley) took a team-high two shots for Chaminade including one of their two shots on goal. Siena Ledesma (Reno, Nev./Galena) had the other shot at the net.
 
Sydney Bakritzes (Edina, Minn./University of North Dakota/Edina HS) made seven saves for CUH while Melyna Martinez had two stops for Texas Dallas.
 
Other 'Swords who fired shots towards Martinez were Marianna Carpenter (Castle Rock, Colo./University of North Dakota/Castle View HS), Milan Cordone (Las Vegas/University of Northern Iowa/Coronado HS) and Scottie Crooks (Vancouver, Wash./Western Oregon University/Skyview HS).
 
Texas Dallas took a whopping 13 corner kicks while the physical nature of the match resulted in 12 Chaminade fouls and eight for the visitors.
 
The Silverswords will be away from the Saint Louis Field pitch the next three weeks with four matches on the road. Their next contest is next Friday, Sept. 4 when they face Colorado Christian University in Hilo.
