Tanner Shimomoto

The fall 2021 season will be the second for Tanner Shimomoto as an assistant coach for the Chaminade University men's soccer team. He also leads the charge in day-to-day operations for Head Coach Paul Shimomoto’s program. On a daily basis, Shimomoto reviews practice and game film, scouting opposition, recruiting, and managing the team’s digital communication platforms.

Shimomoto graduated from the University of Oregon, with a degree in Advertising and a minor in Sports Business. During his time at Oregon, Shimomoto served as a film assistant for the Ducks football team for three seasons, winning back-to-back Pac-12 Championships (2019, 2020), and a Rose Bowl (2020).

Shimomoto has coaching experience, serving as a head coach and an assistant coach for Honolulu Galaxy Futbol Club from 2016 to 17.

Shimomoto was an honor roll student in high school. He also played varsity soccer while attending ‘Iolani High School. In 2016-17, he led the team in goals scored and was an Interscholastic League of Honolulu First Team selection and an all-state honorable mention.
