The 2016 season is Rosie Nakata's second year as an assistant coach for the Chaminade women's soccer team and works with the goalkeepers.
In 2016, Nakata helped sophomore keeper Brandee Lane record one of the finest seasons in program history by setting single-season records in wins (4), shutouts (3.1), goals against average (1.52) and saves percentage (81.3). The Silverswords also surrendered 1.56 goals per match, the lowest average in program single-season history.
Nakata enjoyed a stellar collegiate playing career at California Baptist from 2010-13, earning Pacific West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year honors her junior season (2012) when she allowed only 11 goals with a 0.65 goals allowed percentage and a 17-1 record. She was named to the PacWest Second Team her senior year, posting a 11-2-1 mark with four goals allowed and an 0.32 goals allowed average.
Nakata prepped at Mililani High School in Mililani, O'ahu, helping lead the Trojans to the O'ahu Interscholastic Association title and an appearance in the Hawai'i High School Athletic Association championship game her senior year. She also played in the Hawai'i Youth Soccer Association Senior All-Star Game.
