Nahaku Brown

Nahaku Brown enters her third year at the helm of the Chaminade University Women's Volleyball program.  Brown  previously served as head women’s volleyball coach for Hawaii Pacific University from 1986 to 1991, spearheading its NAIA nationally ranked program for successive years.  In 1990, she received the Russell NAIA Coach of the Year Award after HPU won the 1990 National NAIA Championship. Before that, she had also served as graduate assistant coach for the University of Hawaii—Manoa (1982) and as head women’s volleyball coach for Chaminade University (1984-85).

 

Brown finished her second year at 7-16 overall, marking a two win improvement from year one to year two. 

 

Brown earned her bachelors degree in anthropology at University of Hawaii-Manoa, where she played volleyball for four years. During her time at UH-Manoa, she was an AIAW Championship team member in 1979 and a NCAA All American First Team member in 1981.  A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, she also played four years of varsity volleyball there. During that period, her team was ILH Champions (1976-77), and she was a HHSAA State Champion member (1977).
