Laie, HI- In the rubber match against the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii, an early goal by Viktor Bezhani led the Seasiders to a 3-0 victory over the Silverswords on a rainy, muddy afternoon on the North Shore.
The Seasiders got their first goal in the 3rd minute and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The second half saw the Silverswords switch goalkeepers as Matt Muntz took over in goal. Viktor Bezhani got his second goal of the day in the 61st minute, allowing the Seasiders some breathing room.
BYU-Hawaii tacked on a goal in the 86th minute for the 3-0 victory.
BYU-Hawaii out-shot the Swords 21-8.
The Swords were led offensively by Marvin Mendoza with two shots on goal. Matt Muntz and Kris Lounsbury combined for 7 saves for Chaminade.
Chaminade moves to 1-13-1 on the year with the loss. The Seasiders go to 4-8-2 with the win. The Swords are back in action on October 28th vs. UH-Hilo at St. Louis Field. Game time is set for 7:00 PM HT.
