Hilo, HI- Another battle with UH-Hilo, this time it ended in a Chaminade win. The Swords dominated the glass 45-31, including 18 offensive rebounds.
Marko Kolaric scored 18 points and shot 9-17 from the floor. Mike Green added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
A total of four Swords scored in double figures, with Stewart Kussler adding 11 points and Hayden Heiber had 10.
The Swords struggled from three, shooting 15% from the arc, but attacked the rim, shooting 50% from two-point range in the second half. The Vulcans were hot early, shooting 67% from three in the first half, and took a 29-24 lead into the break.
Samuel Wilhoite led UH-Hilo with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
With the win, Chaminade improves to 17-6, 12-2 in the PacWest. UH-Hilo falls to 10-9, 6-6 in the conference.
The Swords have some time before their next game as the face UH-Hilo again on February 20th. Game time is 7:30 PM HT in McCabe Gym.
