Chaminade Men’s Soccer Loses Heartbreaker to Cal Baptist in Overtime 1-0

Lancers score at end of first overtime

Kris Lounsbury made 4 saves in defeat

Honolulu, HI- The Lancers of Cal Baptist defeated Chaminade today in a hard-fought 1-0 battle at St. Louis Field.

 

The Swords attacked early, getting a great chance on a shot by Keenan Ho (3 shots)  that rattled the crossbar in the first half.  Possession and play was even throughout the first half. 

 

The Lancers applied pressure throughout the second half as Tim Wardell got off eight shots, three of them on goal.  It wasn't enough though, as Chaminade held and the game went into overtime.    

 

The game winner came as the first ten minutes of overtime were about to expire as Tim Wardell connected off a pass from Martin Medina to earn the golden goal in the 100th minute. 

 

Kris Lounsbury made four saves on the match for Chaminade. 

 

Chaminade falls to 1-5 on the year with the loss.  The Swords are back in action on September 21st vs Dominican University in San Rafael, CA.  Game time is set for 1 PM PT.
