Laie, HI- In the second of four games between Pac West conference rivals, the Swords came up short, falling 96-81 to BYU-Hawaii.
The game was tight, as the Seasiders led 40-37 at the break. Mohamed Tangara was impressive inside for Chaminade, scoring 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Four Silverswords scored in double figures, with Noah Gottlieb adding 16 points, while Darrell Birton and Patrick Collier each added 12 points.
The Seasiders outrebounded Chaminade 45-31.
Lucas Alves led the Seasiders with 18 points.
Chaminade falls to 9-8 on the year, 5-3 in the Pac West conference. BYU-Hawaii moves to 14-1, 5-0 in Pac West play. The Swords are back in action at home vs. Dixie State on Feb. 4th. Game time is set for 7:30 PM HT in McCabe Gym.
