Chaminade WVB: Swords Defeated by NDNU in Three Sets

Viveiros leads CUH with 12 kills, 13 digs

Belmont, CA- The Swords fell to the Argos of NDNU in three sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-23) at Walter Gleason Gym this evening. 

 

Freshman Whitney Viveiros (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) led Chaminade with 12 kills and 13 digs.  Viveiros also had a hitting percentage of .320.  Sophomore Malilimago Toailoa (Waikaloa, HI/Kealakehe) added 6 kills. 

 

Senior Chauntelle Maduli (Honolulu, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) had for 8 kills and 9 digs.  Junior setter Tanya Alvino (Brentwood, CA/Liberty) had 29 assists for CUH.  Kristy Inamasu (Kahului, HI/Maui) led all players with 17 digs.    

 

The Swords fell in the dig battle 57-56.  NDNU also out-hit Chaminade, .252 to .168. 

 

The Argos were led by Caitlin Torres with 17 kills. 

 

With the loss, Chaminade falls to 2-15.  NDNU moves to 7-13.  The Swords are back in action at home on Saturday (Oct. 10th) against Westminster.  It is the first of eight straight home matches for Chaminade.  First serve is set for 12:00 PM HT in McCabe Gym.
