Waipahu, HI- The Silversowrds took on the Antelopes of Grand Canyon today in a double header match up at COPRS Field, losing both games 8 to 0 and 7 to 0. Chaminade had real trouble with the Antelope pitching today, recording only 4 hits in both games.
Game # 1 – Grand Canyon came out ready to play, the recorded 14 hits on 36 at bats, scored 8 RBI's, struck out only 3 and won 8 to 0. Chelsi Walls pitched all seven innings for the Swords; she falls to 0-7 on the year. The Swords really struggled offensively, recording only 2 hits on 20 at bats. Keli-Grace Kaowilli- Sanatian and Skye Virtudes were the two players who recorded hits.
Game # 2- Shalin Yamaguchi had the only two hits of the game for the Silverswords. Kasy'e Lalau was the pitcher; she faced 33 batters, gave up 12 hits, 7 RBI's, walked 2 batters and struck out 1. She falls to 1 and 6 on the year.
With the loss, CUH moves to 1-13 overall and 0-4 in the Pac West Conference, while Grand Canyon moves to 19-4on the year and 4-2 in the Pac West Conference. The Swords host Lock Haven University on March 3rd, 2009. Game time is set 4:30 PM HST this game is a double header and will be played CORPS Field.
