Hilo, HI- The Swords fell tonight to the Vulcans of UH Hilo in three sets (22-25, 16-25, 22-25) in front of 363 fans at UHH Gymnasium.
Chaminade was led by sophomore
Kylee Pedro with 10 kills and a red-hot hitting percentage of .529.
Kristy Inamasu and Poerava Gannt added 13 and 11 digs respectively in defeat. The Swords were stout defensively, winning the dig battle 48-45. UH-Hilo out-hit CUH .289 to .198.
Hillary Hurley led the Vulcans with 19 kills.
Chaminade falls to 3-7, 0-3 in the Pac West. UH Hilo moves to 7-3, 2-1 in conference play. The Swords are back in action on October 8th against Grand Canyon at Antelope Gym. First serve is set for 7PM MT.
