CUH MBB: Swords Handle Academy of Art 74-39

Cousins leads with 20 points, 8 rebounds

San Francisco, CA- The Swords took a close game early and opened it up for a 74-39 win over the Urban Knights. Academy of Art came out ready to go early, leading 14-13 with 6:48 to go in the opening twenty minutes. Chaminade responded with a 16-2 run to close the half, led by three three-pointers by Shane Hanson to go into the break up 29-16.
 
The game was 48-33 in Chaminade's favor with 8:52 remaining, but the Swords outscored the Urban Knights 26-6 for the remainder of the game.
 
All ten Chaminade players scored in the contest. Sophomore Matt Cousins led the way with 20 points and 8 rebounds in 23 minutes of action. Juniors Shane Hanson and Steven Bennett each added 12 points, while Chandler Pearson added 11 rebounds in the win.
 
The Swords defense was stifling, limiting Academy of Art to 23% shooting on the game.   CUH won the battle of the boards 49-30. 
 
Philip Samuel led AAU with 7 points. 
 
Chaminade moves to 8-14, 5-8 in the Pac West. Academy of Art falls to 0-25, 0-15 in the Pac West. Chaminade is back in action on March 4th against NDNU in Belmont, CA. Game time is set for 7:30 PM PT.
