CUH WVB: Swords Swept by Sea Lions of Point Loma Nazarene

Viveiros leads Chaminade with 8 kills

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- The Silverswords lost PacWest Conference matchup with conference newcomer Point Loma Nazarene in three sets, 13-25, 16-25 and 22-25.  
 
The Sea Lions got out early, hitting .481 in the first set to get out to the 1-0 lead.  PLNU took the second set before Chaminade started to rally.  The third set was the most competitive, as Chaminade cut the lead to 23-21 late in the set following a Whitney Viveiros (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) kill.  It was not to be, as PLNU closed on the set 25-22 and won the match in three sets.
 
Viveiros led the way with 8 kills, while Chaminade junior Crystal Powell (Honolulu HI/Word of Life) added 6 kills in defeat. 
 
CUH hit .094 on the match, while PLNU hit .298.  Sophomore Brenda Walker (Honolulu, HI/McKinley) led Chaminade with 13 digs. The Swords won the dig battle, 38-35.
 
The Sea Lions were led by Kelli LeClair with 13 kills.
 
The Swords fall to 6-11, 3-6 PWC with the defeat. Point Loma Nazarene moves to 7-9, 3-4 PWC. Chaminade is back in action Friday night as the Swords take on Cal Baptist  in McCabe Gym.  First serve is set for 7:00 PM HT.
