CUH MBB: Swords Defeat New Zealand in Exhibition 117-103

Green leads Chaminade with 30 points

Box Score HONOLULU, HI – Chaminade concluded their pre-season schedule tonight with a 117-103 win over New Zealand tonight in McCabe Gym. 
 
The Swords were impressive from the arc, connecting on 13-31 three's, good for 42%.  Sophomore Mike Green (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) scored 30 points on 12-21 shooting; including six three's in his Silversword debut.  Senior Dominique Cooks (Wollongong, Australia/Holy Spirit) contributed a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists, while fellow senior De'Andre Haskins (Long Beach, CA/Jordan) added 24 points in the win. 
 
CUH led 63-49 at the half. 
 
The Swords shot 50% from the floor on the night and New Zealand shot 57%.  CUH connected on 26 of 30 free throws, good for 87%.     
  
Paora Winitana led New Zealand with 26 points. 
 
Chaminade's next opponent is St. Martin's on November 9th at 5:30 PM PT.  It will be the first of two contests for Chaminade in the 3rd Annual GNAC/PacWest Challenge.  The games will be held in Monmouth, Oregon at the New PE Building on the campus of Western Oregon.  CUH has won the GNAC/PacWest Challenge each of the two years it has been held (2010, 2011).
