Box Score HONOLULU, HI – CUH faced a tough NDNU team tonight and fell just short, losing 66-60.
The first half was competitive throughout, with Chaminade holding the slightest of advantages, 30-29 at the break. Freshman
Lee Bailey (Detroit, MI/Detroit Country Day) was red-hot in the first twenty minutes, knocking down four of five threes. Bailey finished the half with 12 points, leading the Swords. NDNU's Aaron Mollet kept the Argos close with 14 first half points to lead all scorers at the break.
The Argonauts shot 46% from the floor in the opening half, Chaminade countered with six threes to earn the one-point lead.
Senior
Matt Cousins (Santa Rosa, CA/Cardinal Newman) scored six points in the first four minutes of the second half, giving the Swords a six point lead with 15:25 left in the half after converting a three-point play. Cousins picked up two quick fouls immediately following and was benched with four fouls with fourteen minutes to go in the contest. 6'8 freshman forward
Casey Oldemoppen was pressed into action for Chaminade due to the foul trouble and quickly gave the Swords a 47-40 lead after making a short jumper with 12:09 remaining.
NDNU responded, leading 58-53 with 5:10 left in the contest after Aaron Mollet made two free throws for the Argos. The Argo's Cheynne Lishman (Kailua, HI/Kalaheo) added a layup and gave Notre Dame de Namur a seven point advantage. Chaminade's
Dominique Cooks (Wollongong, AUS/Holy Spirit) responded with four consecutive free throws to cut the lead to three points at 60-57 with 2:48 left in the contest. A
Bennie Murray three-point play tied the score at 60, and the Swords got a stop on defense to set up the final minute of action.
A Micah Dunhour layup gave the Argos a 62-60 lead thirty-three seconds left. Chaminade failed to score on their next two possessions and NDNU held on for a 66-60 win.

Rickey Clayborn (Chicago, IL/E. Chicago) did not play due to injury.
The Swords were out-rebounded by Notre Dame de Namur 40-28. Chaminade shot 36% from the floor while the Argos shot 46% for the contest.
The Argos were led by Aaron Mollet with 25 points.
Chaminade is back in action at Cal Baptist on February 20
th in Riverside, CA. Tip is set for 7:30 PM PT.
With the loss, the Swords move to 9-11, 7-6 in PWC while NDNU moves to 9-13, 5-9 in the PWC.
