CUH MSOC: Swords Draw Match with ‘Siders 0-0

Box Score LAIE, HI- Chaminade battled the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii to a 0-0 draw this afternoon in the PacWest Conference opener for both teams.    
 
The Seasiders controlled the run of play in the opening forty-five minutes, outshooting CUH 5-1, but the Swords defense kept the score tied at 0-0.
 
The second half, plus two overtime periods found no goals and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.  Chaminade junior midfielder, Sam Galloway (Akron, OH/ Copley) led the way for CUH with two shots. 
 
BYU-Hawaii's Brett Waters led all players with 4 shots on the match. 
 
Conor Knox (O'Fallon, IL/ O'Fallon) made 7 saves in for CUH.  Chaminade lost the shot total x15-5.
 
Coach Higgins commented after the match, “We were sluggish to start the match, but I thought the guys really responded at half time with tactical changes and by raising their intensity.  I was pleased with the effort and the halftime adjustments.”
 
With the draw, Chaminade moves to (0-2-1, 0-0-1 PWC). BYU-Hawaii moves to 1-0-1, 0-0-1 PWC).  Chaminade is set to take on Hawaii-Hilo on September 17th at the St. Louis Soccer Field.  The match is set for 10:00 AM HT.
