Box Score HONOLULU, HI- Chaminade won a hard fought match with Dixie State in five sets tonight in front of a loud crowd in McCabe Gym. Chaminade made the fans nervous early, dropping the first two sets 20-25, 17-25. CUH rebounded and took set three by a score of 25-17.
The Swords offense awakened in set three to earn the set win, hitting .281 as a team, while holding Dixie to a .050 hitting percentage. Freshman
Lexis Evans (Phoenix, AZ/North) provided a much needed spark in the third set win. Chaminade continued their strong play in the fourth set, knotting the match at two sets apiece with a 25-18 win.
The Swords took care of business in the fifth set, taking an early 5-0 advantage and won the deciding set, 15-10. Freshman outside hitter
Kim Spring (Bern, Switzerland/ Feusi Bildungszentrum and Feusi Sportschule) led CUH with 16 kills.
Chaminade outside hitter
Crystal Powell (Honolulu, HI/Word of Life) added 9 kills in the win.

Brenda Walker (Honolulu HI/ McKinley) was impressive defensively throughout the match, tallying 38 digs. Setter
Daniella Montoya (Las Vegas, NM/ Robertson) led the Swords with 34 assists.
The Red Storm were led by Mercedes O'Neal with 13 kills.
The Swords move to 4-6 (1-1 PWC) with the win. Dixie State falls to 2-5 (0-2). Chaminade is back in action on Saturday evening as the Swords take on Grand Canyon in McCabe Gym. First serve is set for 7:00 PM HT.
