CUH MSOC: Chaminade Downed by Seasiders 2-1

Galloway tallies goal for Swords

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- Chaminade dropped a competitive non-conference affair with Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii 2-1 today at St. Louis Field on Kalaepohaku this afternoon. 
 
The Swords got on the board early off on impressive goal by Chaminade junior midfielder Sam Galloway (Akron, OH/Copley) off an assist by freshman forward Edward Mussi (Saline, MI/Saline) in the 14th minute of action. 
 
BYU-Hawaii scored in the 33rd minute on a Devin King penalty kick goal to knot the score at 1-1.  Chaminade won the first half shot total in a very even half of play, 6-5.
 
Neither offense got going early in the second half, with the score still knotted at 1-1 in the 70th minute. A Seasider goal by James Puertas in the 73rd minute gave BYU-Hawaii a 2-1 lead.     
 
Chaminade won the shot total 12-11.
 
With the defeat, Chaminade moves to (0-2, 0-0). BYU-Hawaii moves to 1-0.  Chaminade is set to take on BYU-Hawaii in a rematch on September 15th at the BYU-Hawaii Soccer Field.  Kickoff is set for 12:30 PM HT.
