Box Score HONOLULU – Fresno Pacific's two goals during the game's opening five minutes sent the Chaminade men's soccer team to an 8-1 loss in a Pacific West Conference game Thursday afternoon at St. Louis Field.
The Silverswords fell to 0-11 on the season and 0-7 in the PacWest. The Sunbirds improved to 7-4-1 and remained in first place of the conference at 6-1.
Dayton Sato accounted for the Swords' only goal of the game, coming in the 77
th minute when he dribbled down the left sideline, slipped past a charging goal keeper and found the back of the net. It was Sato's team-leading second goal of the season.
The eight goals allowed are tied for the most in program history. Grand Canyon tallied eight in both 2008 and 2010.
Fresno Pacific held a 6-0 lead at halftime.
The Swords return to the field on Saturday when they face Notre Dame de Namur at 3:30 p.m.
