MSOC: Siders Drop Swords

Box Score LAIE, Hawai'i – The Chaminade men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to BYU-Hawai'i Wednesday at BYUH Soccer Field.
 
The Silverswords fell to 0-13 on the season and 0-9 in Pacific West Conference play, while the Seasiders are now 7-3-2 and 5-2-1.
 
Mike Moreno opened the scoring six minutes into the contest, giving the Seasiders a 1-0 lead. He added another goal in the 23rd minute to extend the lead to 2-0.
 
The Siders led 3-0 at halftime, but the Swords didn't hang their heads, keeping BYUH out of the net for the first 40 minutes of the second half. They also ramped up the pressure, attempting nine shots in the second stanza after being held to two in the first.
 
The Seasiders added two late goals including one on a free path in the waning seconds when CUH went with an empty net.
 
The Silverswords return home to St. Louis Field on Saturday against Academy of Art at 3:30 p.m., a stretch of three straight home games by Chaminade to end the season.
