MSOC: Seasiders blank Swords, 3-0

HONOLULU – The Chaminade men's soccer team ended non-conference action by dropping a 3-0 decision to BYU-Hawai'i on Tuesday at St. Louis Field.
 
The Seasiders picked up their first win of the season, improving to 1-1-1 while the Silverswords fell to 0-4.
 
BYUH got on the board first in the 33rd minute when a ball was headed out by the Swords goalkeeper, but Colby Bauer captured the ricochet and kicked it into the back of the net, making it 1-0.
 
The Seasiders made it 2-0 in the 61st minute when Michael Moreno scored on a breakaway goal. BYUH added a third goal in the 80th minute by Brady Berry.
 
The Seasiders outshot the Swords, 20-6, although the corner kicks were even at five.
 
Chaminade opens Pacific West Conference play on Saturday against Hawai'i-Hilo, which beat CUH, 2-1, last Saturday in Hilo. Kickoff set is slated 35 minutes after the completion after the women's game.
