Box Score OAKLAND, Calif. – There would be no last-second heroics from Lee Bailey for a third consecutive game. This time, the Chaminade men's basketball team put the opposition away early.

Playing its first game on the Mainland this season, the Silverswords jumped out to an 18-5 lead just minutes into the game, en-route to an 83-70 win Saturday at Holy Names in a Pacific West Conference game at Tobin Gymnasium.

Bailey, who hit game-winners at Hawai'i Pacific and BYU-Hawai'i over the last seven days, still made his presence felt with a game-high 28 points for the Silverswords (10-6 overall, 7-1 PacWest). Kiran Shastri followed with 12 while Kuany Kuany had 11 points and seven rebounds. Frankie Eteuati came off the bench with 10 points and three blocks while hitting 5-of-7 from the field. James Harper had a team-best eight rebounds for Chaminade.

Joshua Crum led the Hawks (4-13, 3-5 PacWest) with 17 points while Dante Robinson had 11.

"It was a good win on the road," Silverswords head coach Eric Bovaird said. "Any road win in this conference is a good one."

Five different 'Swords scored in the opening minutes of the game with Bailey accounting for seven points during the team's 18-5 start. Chaminade continued to tack on points to the scoreboard, building the first half lead to as many as 21. The Silverswords enjoyed a 45-25 advantage at the half.

Bailey had 16 first-half points, followed by Kuany's nine. CUH hit nearly 52 percent of its shots from the floor (14-of-27) while holding HNU to only six made field goals in the half.

Chaminade continued to apply the pressure to begin the second half as Kevin Hu made a pair of jumpers while Bailey added a layup. CUH's lead grew to as many as 25 in the second stanza.

The Silverswords shot 43 percent from the floor (25-of-58) while holding the Hawks to only 30 percent (18-of-60). The 'Swords made only four 3-pointers, but made up for it with 29 made free throws in a game that featured 54 combined fouls. Chaminade also out-rebounded Holy Names, 45-43.

"We played pretty good defense, not allowing them clean looks at the 3s," Bovaird said. "We have things to improve on, but overall, a pretty good performance. Lee did a good job for us making good decisions with the ball."

The 'Swords continue their road trip on Monday at Fresno Pacific.
