Box Score HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's soccer team opened the 2014 season on the short end of a 2-0 decision to Hawai'i Pacific in a non-conference tilt Saturday at Saint Louis Field.
The Sharks (1-0) got a first-half goal from Kona Gaison in the 16
th minute, shooting a shot past Silverswords goalkeeper
Bernd Buescherhoff. HPU then added an insurance goal off the foot of Brais Garcia in the 72
nd minute.
Austin Bush took two shots for the 'Swords, one on goal. Buescherhoff made five saves, all in the first half while
Rene Mejia took to the net in the second and accounted for two.
The 'Swords (0-1) were outshot in the contest, 18-8.
Chaminade returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 13, when it faces BYU-Hawai'i in a non-conference game in Laie.
