Box Score HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's soccer team returned home to Saint Louis Field for the first time in two weeks, but couldn't overcome Hawai'i-Hilo, 2-1, in a non-conference game Monday.
The Vulcans' Jamie Sporcic opened the scoring when he broke down towards the left sideline and punched the box from the left box past Silverswords' goalkeeper

UH-Hilo (2-2) added a second goal seven minutes later on Jacob LaPorte's 35-footer on a free kick after a Chaminade foul.

th minute, the Silverswords'
Austin Bush headed the ball towards the net, but it was deflected away by a Vulcan defender. The ball found its way back to Bush, whose second header found paydirt has it went past UHH goalkeeper Tyler Hoffman, who started the second half. It was Bush's second goal of the season.
But Hoffman locked down the remainder of the game, saving shot attempts from Bush,
Avinash Singh and
Mitchell Fasolo.
The Vulcans outshot the Silverswords, 22-13, and owned the corner kick advantage, 10-5. Mejia logged 10 saves for Chaminade but took the loss (0-1). UHH starting keeper Erick Lemus got the win while making a pair of saves, improving to 1-1.
The 'Swords (1-2) will begin their first Mainland road trip of the year Saturday in their final non-conference game at Cal State East Bay then open Pacific West Conference action next Tuesday at Notre Dame de Namur.
