HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's soccer team played their final home match of the season, falling to Hawai'i-Hilo 1-0 Thursday at Saint Louis Field.
Kahri Golden accounted for the game's only score, booting in a crossing pass from Abcde Zoller in the 67
th minute.
The 'Swords fell to 1-15 overall and 0-12 in the Pacific West Conference. The Vulcans improved to 5-8-3 and 4-8.
The Silverswords had several chances to square the game after the Vulcans' score but
Twyla Hamasaki had one shot saved and another which sailed wide.
Brandee Lane also had a good look at the net in the 85
th minute but UHH keeper Tiani Tianio made the stop.
Hamasaki, one of four seniors playing their final home game, took six shots, three on goal. Chaminade took 10 shots in the contest, eight coming in the second half.
Goalkeeper
Lauren Ishii played her 62
nd consecutive complete game and made six saves in her home finale. Ishii has played 5,661:59 consecutive minutes since the start of the 2012 season.
Tianio earned her first win of the season to improve her record to 1-5-1.
The contest marked the final home game for Hamasaki, Ishii,
Kristen Fujinaga and
Raquelle Matayoshi.
The Silverswords conclude the season Saturday at BYU-Hawai'i.
