KANEOHE, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's soccer team continues to search for the long elusive win over their intercity rivals.
The Silverswords fell to Hawai'i Pacific 1-0 in a non-conference match Saturday at Atherton Field to fall to 1-3 on the season. It's the fourth time in the last five meetings that the game was decided by a single goal with HPU coming out ahead each time.
The Sharks improved to 3-2 on the year.
Breanna Gaddis accounted for the game's only goal coming at the 57-minute mark on a pass from Erika Ellis.
The 'Swords, playing short-handed due to injuries, were out-shot, 26-2, and the Sharks had a decided advantage on corner kicks, 13-2.

Mary-Lynn Johannes accounted for both Silverswords shots on the afternoon.
Lauren Ishii made nine saves on the day, including seven in the second half.
Chaminade faces Fresno Pacific in its Pacific West Conference opener next Saturday at Saint Louis Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
