HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's basketball team finishes the regular season with a pair of critical games that will determine their postseason fate.
The Silverswords (11-14, 9-9 Pacific West Conference) host Azusa Pacific (19-7, 13-5) Thursday and Point Loma (13-12, 8-10) in the regular season finale Saturday as they vie for a spot in next week's PacWest Tournament at the CU Arena in Irvine, California. Although the 'Swords are one of six teams still alive for the tournament's final two spots, they control their own destiny as two wins will put them in the field of six.
APU has already qualified for the conference tournament but is engaged in a three-way tie with California Baptist and Dixie State for the top seed while Hawai'i Pacific is only a game behind. The Cougars narrowly fended off the 'Swords, 88-87, last month in Azusa, California, hitting a free throw with less than two seconds remaining. Chaminade has dropped the last three meetings with its only win in the series coming in February 2013 in Honolulu. The 'Swords are 5-2 lifetime against the Sea Lions who, like Chaminade, are also battling for a PacWest Tournament berth.
Rohndell Goodwin (16.5 ppg) is coming off an 18-point outing against BYU-Hawai'i in which he sank a career-high six 3-pointers.
Kuany Kuany (16.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg) hit 10 of his 11 field goal attempts to increase his shooting percentage to a conference-best 59.6 percent.
Saturday's game against Point Loma is also Senior Night, where seniors

Kevin Hu,
Oscar Pedroso and
David Ware, along with junior
Amu Rosen, will honored following the game.
Live streaming audio of both games will be on GoSwords.com.
