KAHUKU, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their regular season Saturday at the Hawai'i Pacific University Invitational at Kahuku Golf Course.
The Lady Silverswords tallied 48 points for a second-place finish behind host HPU. Freshman
Riley Hallman (Renner, S.D./Tri-Valley) enjoyed her second-consecutive team and overall top-10 by finishing 10
th overall in the 5k run at 21:28.1.
Olivia Mariucci (Templeton, Calif./Templeton) was the second 'Swords to finish the race coming at 23:34.1
Jaycie Dennison (Lake Elsinore, Calif./Lakeside) came in at 24:03.6, followed by
Alicia Shedden (Fort Worth, Texas/Nolan Catholic) at 24:28.1 and
Kaohi Gomera (North Kohala, Hawai`i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) at 27:38.4.
In the men's 8k race, the Silverswords came in second to the Sharks, accumulating 49 points. Josh Cordwin (Omaha, Neb./Daniel J. Gross Catholic) recorded his first-ever top team finish, clocking a time of 27:10.2 for a seventh-place overall finish.
Beau Larsen (Papillion, Neb./Daniel J. Gross Catholic) followed in ninth at 27:32.3 with
Chris Ortiz (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) rounding out the field's top-10 at 32:12.4.
Matthew Schmidt (Hanalei, Hawai'i/Hawai'i Technology Academy) was 11
th overall at 32:28.7 while
Antonio Bonnetty (Vicksburg, Miss./Moanalua) was 12
th at 37:01.1.
The Silverswords squads will conclude the season on Oct. 21 at the Pacific West Conference Championships in Crystal Springs, Calif.
