IRVINE, Calif. – For the first time in six years, Chaminade University is represented on the All-Pacific West Conference softball teams released Tuesday.
Malia Ka`akimaka-Moisa (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Campbell) was named to the second team while
Madelyn Stockslager (Torrance, Calif./South) earned third team honors.

Ka'akimaka-Moisa earned her spot at utility after making 18 starts at catcher, 17 at designated player and eight in right field. The sophomore hit .240 on the season and led the Silverswords in homers (4), RBI (18), walks (22) and on-base percentage (.389).
Stockslager went 11-15 with a save this past season while posting a 2.48 ERA, the lowest by a 'Swords' pitcher since 1993. The sophomore also struck out 106, third-highest in the PacWest and second-most in school history. Stockslager received little run support all season with the team averaging just 2.36 runs in her 25 starts with run-support of 1.13 in her 15 losses.
The duo are the first Silverswords to receive All-PacWest honors since 2013. Stockslager is also the first 'Sword named all-conference as a pitcher since 2005 when
Donnell Wittekind was selected to the second team (
Kaitlyn Watanabe was named to the 2013 All-PacWest Third Team as an at-large/utility selection).
Kayla Neff of Biola was named the PacWest Player of the Year while Sydney Sprinkle of PacWest champion Concordia Irvine took home Freshman of the Year kudos. Sprinkle's teammate Callie Nunes, a 31-game winner and conference strikeout leader with 241, was the Pitcher of the Year while the Eagles also had the Coach of the Year in Crystal Rosenthal. Conocordia's Mackenzie Graham and Biola's Missy Poti shared Defensive Player of the Year with Hawai'i Hilo's Rayla Jacobs-Kea named the Newcomer of the Year.
