Davenport Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chaminade University guard Telly Davenport (Idaho Falls, Idaho/College of Southern Idaho/Bonneville HS) on Wednesday was named to the 2019-20 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court which recognizes academic excellence during the year.

The 6-foot-5 redshirt junior held a 3.500 grade-point average this past academic term, studying Business Administration while his cumulative GPA is 3.591.

Davenport battled through injuries which limited him to just 10 games in his two years as a Silversword. When healthy, he excelled. In last November's season-opening PacWest/GNAC Challenge in Anchorage, Alaska, Davenport combined for 25 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists in victories over Alaska and Alaska Anchorage. Following the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, he was sidelined for the next 20 games before returning to play in the team's final four contests including both Pacific West Conference Tournament games.

To be eligible for the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically and a varsity player; have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 at the conclusion of the '19-20 academic year; been at their current institution for at least one year; and be a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
