WAIKOLOA, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team remains in sixth place at the Pacific West Conference Championships at the part-70, 6,566-yard Waikoloa Beach Course.
The Silverswords shot 313 in the second round, giving them a 36-hole total of 636, 34 strokes behind fifth-place Dominican University of California.
Kalani Frazier (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kapolei) continues to be the 'Swords' low-scorer with a two-day total of 156. Frazier shot a second-round 81.
Jeren Nishimoto (Honolulu/Kaiser) is four shots back of his teammate at 160 after a 9-over-par 79 in the second round.
Chaminade's low round of the day went to
Colby Gunderson (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Castle) who carded a 4-over 74 to put him at 162 for the tournament.
Schuyler Peterson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) shot an 81, his identical first-round score to give him a 161.
Desmond Mello (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hawai'i/Moanalua HS) carded a 79 in Round 2, putting his total at 165.
The University of Hawai'i Hilo and Holy Names University continued to be tied atop the team standings at 575. Hawai'i Pacific University's Keita Okada is the second-round leader at 3-under 137.
The Silverswords will end the season Wednesday with the Championship's third and final round. First tee times are at 7:30 a.m.
