Chaminade University men's golfer Jeren Nishimoto (Honolulu/Kaiser) was named Thursday to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division II Academic All-District 8 Men's At-Large Team, as voted by West region sports information directors.

Nishimoto is one of 14 student-athletes and five golfers in the West to be named to the at-large list which is comprised of participants from Olympic sports such as tennis, swimming, wrestling and lacrosse.

Nishimoto completed a five-year athletic career – which included using a season-of-competition waiver – as one of the top golfers in school history. He is fourth in scoring average (78.03 shots per round), one of three Silverswords who has multiple tournament career wins and holds the school record in birdies (140) and eagles (3). This past 2020-21 season, he posted a career-low 77.30 shots per round.

In the classroom, he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in spring 2020 with a cumulative 3.54 grade-point average. During this past academic term, he posted a 3.75 GPA as a first-year graduate student.

Nishimoto, who is the second Silverswords men's golfer to be named to CoSIDA Academic All-District (Spencer Ewart, 2014), is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors which will be announced in early August.

The Division II CoSIDA Academic All-America program is partially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II Academic All-America programs.
